Best Benefits Strategy at the Engagement Excellence Awards 2021

The award recognises companies who have developed a unique benefits strategy aligned with the needs of their workforce.

We're proud to have been shortlisted for the Best Benefits Strategy Award, part of Reward Gateway's Engagement Excellence Awards 2021.

The winners of the Best Benefits Strategy Award, which received hundreds of applications in total, will be announced on 4th November at the Tate Modern in London. We face strong competition in EG Group, Royal Mail and Great Place to Work UK. Regardless of the outcome, congratulations to our colleague experience team for their hard work and unwavering commitment to making City an amazing place to work. Well done!

Our benefits strategy forms an integral part of our wider business and engagement strategies, and Reward Gateway were particularly impressed with how our benefits strategy is structured around key wellbeing pillars: Mental wellbeing, physical wellbeing and financial wellbeing.

Our approach to benefits

Our approach to benefits

  • All colleagues are made aware of the benefits available to them and can access them easily.

  • Identifying gaps in our offering, with a focus on colleague-specific challenges and needs.

  • Promoting our health and wellbeing centre to support personal wellbeing.

  • Supporting mental health, diversity and inclusion, and fostering a culture that is psychologically safe.

  • Empowering colleagues to have their own voice by posting content on our social blog. Connecting with colleagues via polls and surveys.
One platform for all colleagues

One platform for all colleagues

Our OneCity platform provides one place for colleagues to view their tailored benefits. We utilise the platform’s reward, recognition, and communication functionality to provide the best experience for colleagues. Our people are regularly encouraged to provide feedback and we analyse responses and survey data to evaluate what’s working and identify other benefits we could introduce.

The colleague experience team and the wider people team have worked together to drive our ambition for the business and our colleagues. In line with our values, we continue to strive to improve and make it happen!”
