City Facilities Management worked in partnership with a UK book-seller to provide a comprehensive self-delivery electrical service to its UK-wide network of 318 stores.
City carefully selected the best people for the job, employing 31 experienced multi-skilled engineers, who regularly and routinely visited shops, not just when called out. The team was further supported by a dedicated helpdesk and specialist contractors.
The successful execution of this partnership resulted in significant cost reduction – with a budget of less than £4million, City was able to deliver direct cost savings of £500,000. The approach also generated extra added value in relation to improvements in store perception, KPI delivery and health and safety.
