Lord Willie Haughey scoops national business award

Lord Willie Haughey, Executive Chairman of City has been announced as Ernst and Young’s (EY) national winner for Sustained Excellence in the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2018.
Lord Haughey beat stiff competition from 20 other Scottish companies in June compete in the national awards, which were hosted in London on Thursday 1 November.
The Sustained Excellence category celebrates entrepreneurs’ contribution to the UK economy over a considerable period of time. Lord Haughey was recognised for the rapid growth of City, which now has a turnover in excess of £800m and employs over 12,000 colleagues across five continents.
Lord Willie Haughey, OBE and Executive Chairman of City said:
“It is a real honour to accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues at City.
“I am exceptionally proud that our business has been recognised at a national level and this is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by my colleagues worldwide.
